Your New Role:

Provide high quality public dental services tailored to meet the needs of community, including preventative, emergency and general dental care; provide oral health education that will empower clients to improve their general health and wellbeing.

The dentist's position is focussed on several key areas of the operation of the Dental Service. The incumbent is expected to maintain a high level of knowledge and skills in the areas indicated in the section "Key responsibilities" of the position description.

You will be responsible for:

As a Dental Officer you will be responsible for:

• Provide compassionate, effective and efficient dental services within clinical guidelines, including basic oral surgery and endodontic treatment

• Provide supervision to undergraduate students and dental staff

• Provide mentoring and support to less experienced staff and students.

• Ensure high level of infection control within the dental facility and to be compliant in all infection control procedures

What you need to succeed:

We're looking for individuals with:

• Bachelor of Dental Science or equivalent dental qualification

• Current Medicare provider number / Registration number

• Current Dental Prescriber number

• High level of clinical competence and a demonstrated commitment to the provision of appropriate, high quality dental services with a focus on public health principles

• Excellent understanding of Infection Control Procedures

• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member

• Demonstrated commitment to continuing personal and professional development

• Understanding of issues associated with culturally and linguistically diverse communities and High level of skills including Customer Service particularly in dealing with internal and external clients from diverse backgrounds and with special needs, effective teamwork skills

• Community health experience

• Use of Titanium Client Database Management Software (desirable)

• Radiation licence for OPG and lateral cephalogram
