Holstep Health are seeking an experienced Podiatrist to cover parental leave for a fixed up to 12 months, depending on commencement date. This role is 0.7FTE (53.2 Hours a fortnight).

You will work in a small and friendly team of podiatrists, seeing a varied caseload of clients under the aged of 65, from children to adults.

You may be based at: Coburg, Brunswick, Glenroy or any of our other sites dependent on demand.

Your new role:

The Podiatrist is funded under Community Health (CH) program and Home and Community Care, Program for Younger People (HACC PYP) and is responsible for the provision of high-quality, evidenced-based podiatry services to clients under the age of 65 (under 50 for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people) including children.

The model of care operates in accordance with the principles of the Active Service Model (ASM), aiming to maximise clients' and carers' functional independence and their ability to participate fully in the community. The role also has a particular focus on marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

This position interacts closely with other service providers, both internally and externally, in a multi-disciplinary setting. It will involve making appropriate intra and inter-agency referrals. The Podiatrist will be responsible for the provision of a full range of high quality, client-centred podiatry services that are evidence based.

You will be responsible for:

You will be responsible for providing high-quality individualized assessment and management of clients who often present with multiple factors affecting their health and wellness.

The caseload of the position requires sound general podiatry skills including orthotic prescription, nail surgery and diabetic assessment and health education (a significant component of each client contact.)

The caseload will likely also include:

• Wound and ulcer management

• Biomechanical assessment and management of musculoskeletal disorders of the lower limb.

• Assessment and management of neurological and circulatory conditions of the lower limb

You will be expected to:

• provide high quality, evidence-based services for all clients consistent with accepted

professional and organizational policies and procedures.

• be involved in podiatry student placement planning, supervision and feedback

• liaise with Team Leader on any clinical issues within the Podiatry service

• ensure that services are provided in a manner respectful of the languages, literacy levels,

cultural beliefs and practices of our clients.

• accurately record data as required by agency and funding bodies, and ensure timely follow up

on data quality reports as requested by the Team Leader.

• support P&CC program staff in facilitating multidisciplinary student placements.

• support and supervise the practice of Allied Health Assistant staff (as required)

What you will need to succeed:

  • National Police check

  • Statutory Declaration

  • Immunisation Category A

  • Relevant Qualifications

  • Australian Work Rights

  • Working with Children's Check (WWCC)

  • Current full or probationary driver's licence

  • Current AHPRA Registration

  • A certificate from a registered training provider for cardiopulmonary resuscitation, management of anaphylaxis and use of an AED (per Podiatry Board of Australia.)
