Brief Description:
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator for our Community Connections Program

- This is an exciting opportunity to develop and build a volunteer program within Community Connections

- 0.6 EFT; Permanent, Part Time position

- Site: Various Holstep Health Sites (primarily from: Victoria Place, Coburg)

- Join the supportive and welcoming Community Connections Team, who work with clients to connect with their local community and other social, health and wellbeing programs to reach their goals


YOUR NEW ROLE:
The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) is part of the Holstep Health's Community Connections Program. The role will initially be responsible for the planning and development of a new Volunteer Program in Community Connections. The aim of the program is to support community connection through volunteering and for volunteers to support consumers to connect in their community either individually or in a group setting.

Once operational, the role will be responsible for the management of volunteers in the program, including recruitment, induction, training, supervision, ongoing support, reward and recognition and engagement of volunteers.

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and evaluating outcomes of the volunteering service and will work with the Team Leader in the continual development, evaluation and expansion of the service.


YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

As a Volunteer Coordinator in the Community Connections Program, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and developing the Community Connections volunteer program, and once operational, an annual work-plan with guidance/direction from the leadership team.

• Establishing and implementing volunteer resources, processes and procedures for the volunteer program in Community Connections

• Work with HR to coordinate the recruitment and on-boarding process for Community Connection volunteers in line with the relevant Holstep Health policies and procedures

• Providing appropriate induction, supervision, training, support, mentoring and review to all volunteers.

• Fostering a culture that is productive, supportive and beneficial for volunteers, clients and Holstep Health staff

• Supervising volunteer hours and activity, maintain detailed records of volunteer engagement activities and support hours, including client data and case notes.

• Undertaking a matching process for volunteers and clients based on the information from the referral, intake and assessment process

• Supporting volunteers to facilitate/co-facilitate group program/s where appropriate


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:


We are looking for individuals with:

•Certificate IV in Coordination of volunteer programs, Diploma or degree in Community Services, Degree qualifications in Social Work, Community Development or equivalent relevant experience

• Experience in the development and implementation of new programs

• Experience in volunteer coordination, service development and promotion

• Experience in recruiting, training and supporting volunteers in a community setting.

• Knowledge of volunteering and current trends in the sector

• Passion, knowledge and experience in working with people with disabilities, as well as people from diverse backgrounds and CALD communities

• Ability to communicate with consumers, volunteers and families from a wide range of backgrounds

• Computer literacy and ability to use electronic client information management systems/databases

• High standard written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team in a dynamic and changing work environment
